Our Curriculum
The curriculum at Bellfield is innovative and ambitious. Although we use the National Curriculum as a starting point, we go above and beyond to ensure that all children reach their potential in whatever subjects ignite their passion.
Our curriculum is designed in whole-school ‘themes’. Phases work together to focus on a particular aspect of that ‘theme’. During their time at Bellfield, children will visit the ‘theme’ several times, which allows them to build on their knowledge & understanding and promotes their retention.
Each Autumn Term, children start by learning about where they are from and focus on their own city. In the Spring Term, this moves on to them developing their understanding of Great Britain and the events that helped shape our wonderful country. In the Summer Term, children learn about different aspects of the world, developing their understanding of the world-wide context.
